Apex.Autonomy 1.4 Release

Updated: Feb 13, 2023

We released Apex.Autonomy 1.4.0 to our customers last week. Apex.Autonomy is a set of certifiable building blocks for creating autonomy applications. Apex.Autonomy is offered separately from Apex.OS*, the underlying safety-certified ROS-based software framework. Together, Apex.OS* and Apex.Autonomy offer the shortest path from prototype to deployment of a modern C++ code base developed for real-time, deterministic performance.

This Apex.Autonomy release adds in a few significant new features that were requested by our customers, as well as many improvements to the software and the documentation. Specifically, this release adds:

  • Support for the latest SVL simulator (version 2021.2).

  • Improvements to the memory efficiency of our object detection stack.

  • New tools that enhance the experience of developing software by abstracting a lot of the boilerplate code, meaning happier developers.

If you are already using Apex.Autonomy, we recommend updating to this release. And of course, let us know what you think of it.

For those that haven't started using Apex.Autonomy, reach out to us if real-time, safety-certifiable, ROS-compatible autonomy software can accelerate your work.

*As of January 2023 we renamed our products: Apex.Grace was formerly known as Apex.OS, and Apex.Ida was formerly known as Apex.Middleware.
